Bella Vita again

July 7th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Thanks to Lauren from Bella Vita for forwarding a list of available wines to me. She says that the list will have changes and additions in the near future, but this is what is available now.

*****Please note I have taken the list down as there are new changes.*****

With all the craziness that goes into a 4th of July weekend, I was unable to make it in. However, with Shooting Star Blue Franc on the list, it won’t be long. Thank you to Lauren and Gordon for your help.

Thanks for posting this. They didn’t have lists available when we were there.

The markups aren’t too obnoxious, but they’re a little odd, I must admit. Does this price list include the $5 corkage, do you know?

The new wine bar was an interesting concept. A concept I really enjoyed since I like to try as many wines as possible, and tend to get bored with an entire glass of wine, especially if you are paying $9 a glass sometimes. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the selection included a wide range. Kinton Syrah was my favorite of the 30-40 bottles they offered.

The part I am upset with though, is what Claire mentioned about the price mark ups for bottles to go. My friend called and said she was gonna stop by and pick me up a bottle we had the day before, and I almost warned her to check the mark up. At a grocery store in town, the same bottle was $12.99, and she paid close to $24 to go from this place. I am open to hearing the reason behind this but I know other wine bars in the area that have an “In Store” price and “To Go” price. Unless there is some explaination behind this, I don’t think we’ll ever buy To-Go here. I know its not what the place is meant to be as far as buying wine To-Go, but just don’t even sell it To Go. It makes you look bad in my opinion. We’ll go back like I said, because we enjoyed the concept and selection, but please do not buy wine To-Go from here until they bring down prices.
